Maximizing Your Webinar Replays with ConvertKit: A Step-by-Step Guide
Updated over a week ago

If you're using ConvertKit to manage your email marketing and want to make sure your audience receives personalized replay links for your webinars, you're in the right place. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to efficiently send out unique replay links through ConvertKit, whether you're drafting a broadcast message or an email campaign.

1. Creating Custom Fields and Understanding Personalized Tags

ConvertKit allows you to create custom fields for your subscribers, which you can use to send tailored content. For webinar replays, ConvertKit provides a special shortcode—known as a personalized tag—that you’ll need to use to ensure each recipient gets their unique replay link. For example if you have create a custom field with the value "Webinar Replay Link" then ConvertKit would provided with a shortcode something similar to the value {{ webinar_replay_link }} Once you created the custom field inside ConverKit make sure you to select the Reload Tags button inside your EasyWebinar Integrations section to view all the updated tags and custom fields. Map the same accordingly.

2. Setting Up Your Email Template

Begin by choosing an email template within ConvertKit. Whether you’re sending a broadcast message or an email campaign, the process remains the same. Select a template that suits your communication style and the content you want to share.

3. Inserting the Personalized Tag

To personalize your webinar replay links:

  • Locate the section of your email where you want to insert the replay link.

  • Use ConvertKit’s shortcode feature to add the personalized tag for the webinar replay link. This tag will be unique to each subscriber and will pull in their specific link automatically.

For example, if ConvertKit provides a shortcode like {{ webinar_replay_link }}, make sure this is placed in the correct spot in your email template.

4. Sending a Test Email

Before you send out the email to your entire list, it's crucial to test it. This ensures that the personalized tags work correctly and that the unique replay links are accurately inserted.

  • Send a test email to yourself or a colleague.

  • Verify that the replay link included in the test email is correct and unique to the recipient.

5. Additional Tips

  • Double-Check Custom Fields: Ensure that your custom fields are correctly set up in ConvertKit and that they align with the personalized tags used in your emails.

  • Monitor Engagement: After sending out your emails, keep an eye on engagement metrics to see how well your audience is interacting with the replay links.
